Car Rental COVID-19 FAQs
Is Enterprise open?
Yes. Enterprise is an essential services provider that remains open to meet critical transportation and personal mobility needs. We are committed and ready to help you get wherever you need to be.
What steps are being taken to clean rental cars?
Each rental vehicle at Enterprise is thoroughly cleaned between every rental and backed with our Complete Clean Pledge. This includes washing, vacuuming, general wipe down, and sanitising with a disinfectant that meets leading health authority requirements, with particular attention to more than 20-plus high-touch points. We also extend the Complete Clean Pledge to our shuttles (for airport locations) and neighborhood branches.
What is the current car rental process?
To help protect both customers and employees, we have modified our car rental process. This includes the addition of kerbside rentals at our locations to help promote social distancing by getting you quickly on your way while avoiding foot traffic in our locations.
Delivery is also offered at select car rental locations throughout the country. Please contact your rental branch for availability.
Whether you are picking your vehicle up kerbside, or if we deliver it to you, we’re committed to maintaining proper distance throughout the process.
How does car rental return work during the Coronavirus outbreak?
If you are currently renting a car with us, your local branch should be reaching out to you about options to return your rental vehicle. If you have any additional questions or are looking for more information, please call 0800 111 4312.
Can I modify, extend, or cancel my reservation?
You can modify or cancel your reservation via our website or mobile app. We have extended our existing no-fee cancellation policy to include customers with pre-paid rentals booked directly through us. To extend your car rental, you can click “Call to Extend Your Rental” in our mobile app. You can also call your rental branch or 0800 800 227 to extend your reservation.

Renting a Car at Northampton
Northampton Car & Van Hire
If you live in Northampton or you're studying there, there are plenty of reasons why you might need to hire a car or van. Moving student accommodation is easy work in one of our medium vans, or one of our larger models if you have a lot of stuff, and no need for a special licence.
Maybe you need to make a trip to Ikea in Milton Keynes to pick up some furniture, or you're moving house and want to do it yourself? You'll find the Enterprise car hire branch conveniently located to the north of the town on St Andrew's road. And if you can't get to our branch easily, we can even come and pick you up.
Visiting Northampton and the Area
Northampton is a well-appointed town with good shops and restaurants, and of course the racecourse for sporting fans. When you just want a change of scenery or fancy a weekend away, either as a group or a couple, the Cotswolds are just over an hour away and perfect for a day trip or longer break.
Shopping trips to Bicester Village
Enterprise stocks a wide range of cars and people carriers, perfect for a shopping trip to Bicester Village with your friends. With Bicester just 30 miles away, it’s a short drive and you can make a day of it without having to worry about train timetables and lugging your purchases on public transport. There are shops and restaurants aplenty and the beautiful city of Oxford isn’t far, if you fancy a bit of culture.
A Short Drive from Northampton
Closer to Northampton, just 10 miles away, is the stunning Castle Ashby house and gardens, ancestral home of the 7th Marquess of Northampton. Take a stroll around the Italian Garden with its Orangery dating back to 1862. Then, pay a visit to the colourful and fragrant Butterfly and Secret Gardens. Pop into the Walled Garden Tea Room for some refreshments, then drag the kids away from the play area to the Menagerie to meet the meerkats and marmosets, along with the usual, less exotic farmyard animals.
